Why do teachers make students do so many presentations?


It seems like they do this so that they have to do less work. Why teach the class when you can just have your students attempt to do so instead? It seems like the only classes that should have presentations are communications and public speaking classes.

AndrewB 		I used to think the same thing when I was your age. It turns out that knowing how to do presentations and public speaking is important no matter what your future career is. All jobs involve communicating with others. And trust me, grading students' presentations is harder than it looks.
