How can I convert PowerPoint to Word?

I'd like to convert my PowerPoint presentation to a Word document, however, after reading other things on this site and others, it seems as though many of the free conversion software options are sketchy at best. Since both programs are made by Microsoft, is there any way they allow this to be done within the software? I have the Office 2010 suite by the way.

1 Open the PPT file with PowerPoint.
2 In the menu, select "File," then "Send To," then "Microsoft Word." This opens a dialog box where you can select the content and format of the items that will be in the Word file you create.
3 Select the appropriate buttons for the options you want and click "OK". Word opens and displays the new file. If you selected any of the "slides" options you will have a table with one column containing representations of the PowerPoint slides.
4 Edit the slide objects as needed in the same way you would for a text box.

Open your presentation, then go to File > Save & Send > Create Handouts > Create Handouts. It will then give you five different options when sending the file to Word: "Notes next to slides", "Blank lines next to slides", "Notes below slides", "Blank lines below slides", and "Outline only". The "Paste" option just pastes it, while the "Paste link" option will have the Word document change when the PowerPoint document is changed.
