How to Link PDF in a PowerPoint?

Ok, I asked this question...and did NOT receive an answer. Let me emphasize this: I MUST have the link to a separate file. This presentation is being emailed to viewers and not 'presented' by anyone, and the file is very very very long. Thus, if simply pasted to the slides within the powerpoint, 40+ slides would randomly added in the middle of it. Someone who actually knows what they're doing, please answer and help! Thanks!

Here's the question:

"I'm doing a PowerPoint and need to have an extensive PDF of an excel file open up as a link within the slides of the presentation.

My company has a shared drive, so I saved the PDF within the shared drive network. However, when I emailed a test to a few of my coworkers via Microsoft Outlook, they could not open the link when they entered the "view show" mode (and they all have access to this shared drive on their computers). But then, I saved the powerpoint itself on the shared drive and instructed my coworkers to find the presentation on the network and open it up and test it - the link worked.

Why didn't it work when I sent the powerpoint through email? But it did work when I asked my coworkers to hunt for it on the shared drive? I need it to open through email...is this possible?"

Upload the file to an online service, then whenever someone clicks the link they will be able to access it directly from the Internet. If this doesn't work then you can always convert the PDF into a Word document (or any other kind of text document) and link to that instead.

E-mail is handled like a relay race. Your message with an attachment gets passed from one server to the next until it reaches the mailbox of the recipient. Internet rules say no message has to be passed on that is larger than a certain size. So email is not always going to work for sending files.

Outsiders can't like to your shared drive.

The solution is to put your PDF into a world-wide shared drive. There are many free ones. Microsoft's is skydrive:
http://www.skydrive.com/

After you upload the PDF to the SkyDrive, get its properties, which will give you the URL to link to. You also have to set permissions on the enclosing folder for the PDF so that your intended recipients are allowed access to the folder (you do this by email address).
