How is LibreOffice different from OpenOffice?


I recently upgraded to the newest version of Ubuntu, and my OpenOffice suite has been replaced by the LibreOffice suite. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two? After using LibreOffice, I have to say that it seems to be exactly like OpenOffice.

AriB12 		The main difference is that LibreOffice is completely community-driven by a nonprofit organization. You can read a full article comparing/contrasting the two here: http://www.infoworld.com/d/applications/open-office-dilemma-openofficeorg-vs-libreoffice-716 I'm actually in the same situation as you. I've had LibreOffice for a few months now and haven't even noticed a difference from OpenOffice.
