How do I work with formulas in the OpenOffice software?


I recently purchased a new netbook and installed Ubuntu on it, so now I've got the OpenOffice suite. I want to know how to work with formulas within the software, specifically in Calc. I'd like to be able to work on things for work while I'm at home on my couch.

powerpointGuru 		Go to Insert > Object > Formula. Use "^" for exponents and "sqrt" for square roots. If you need to insert a special character, go to Tools > Catalog > Symbols. If at any time you wish to stop working with your formula, simply click within the document. Since you're using formulas, I assume you know how to create them.
