How to insert video to powerpoint playable on another computer?

I need to insert a video into my powerpoint playable on another's computer.

I'm using office 2010 I've tired all video formats, burning contents to a disc but all doesn't work.

I am able to play the video on my computer , but once i share or send it or burn to disc video no longer players and is missing.

I need to burn this ppt to a disc, and the video must be playable on that person's computer.

I can't get this to work, help!

Easy solution to convert and insert video into PowerPoint at http://www.bigasoft.com/articles/how-to-insert-video-to-powerpoint.html

With the above step by step guide, embedding video in PowerPoint is just so easy no matter what kind of videos they are including YouTube video, iMovie videos, iTunes videos and more.

Here is a good article that explains how to convert your PowerPoint to video using a screen recording tool:
http://www.deskshare.com/Resources/articles/convert-powerpoint-to-video.aspx.

I recommend saving to WMV format then using DVD Author Plus to make a video DVD that will work on any DVD player.

If the other computer has Office 2010 installed, it will play.
To avoid such situations, it is highly recommended to convert and burn the PowerPoint to DVD instead of just burning.
Here are 2 methods to convert and burn PowerPoint to DVD:

Method A (Free):
1. Save your PowerPoint slides as images like jpg or png in Microsoft PowerPoint
2. Import these pictures into Windows Movie Maker and make a video.
3. Make a DVD from the output video using Windows DVD Maker (only available for Windows 7 or Vista)

Method B (Easy):
Convert and burn a PowerPoint presentation onto DVD directly with a PowerPoint to DVD converter like Leawo PowerPoint to DVD
http://www.leawo.com/powerpoint-to-dvd/
or Moyea PPT to DVD Burner Pro
http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt_to_dvd/

Notice: All your PowerPoint original elements like animations, transitions, video clips and sounds will be removed when you save your powerpoint slides as images using Method A. So you have to insert the video clips and the music into the Widows movie maker again and add some other animations. While, all your PowerPoint originals will be preserved if you use method B.

To include a movie or video clip in a PowerPoint presentation, you simply click 'Insert', click on 'movies and sounds', then click 'movie from file'.

Keep in mind that PowerPoint only recognizes MP3, AVI and few other file formats so if you cannot add a video because it is FLV or some other unrecognized media type, then you simply download a video format converter, to convert the file to a recognized format.

In the PowerPoint, the video you add to it is actually added a LINK.The real video is still on the hard drive of your computer. So in your case, to make sure it works on another computer, you can create a file folder, and put both your PPT and the video into it.
For example, the path of the folder is:D:my ppt, so you need to copy the whole folder(D:my ppt) to your teacher's computer in order to make the machine recognize the right path.

Also you should make sure the video format is supported by the PowerPoint, usally in ASF, AVI, MPEG or WMV.IF not,you may need a video converter.
